Arts and crafts will make a mess; cover surfaces with paper to avoid damage. This is easily thrown away at the end and takes care of the mess at the same time.

There is a variety of supplies you can use for your projects. Paper goods you normally throw away are good options. Toilet paper or towel rolls are excellent supplies. Newspapers can even be put to use. Try to think of ways you can incorporate items you would generally discard into your projects.

Try not to be critical of kids when they do arts and crafts. You want to encourage them to be creative. You’ll never accomplish the stated goal if you’re hanging over your child and trying to get things “perfect”.

Crafts

Arts and crafts can be done with a lot of different materials and supplies. Plastic bottles or paper plates that would otherwise be thrown away are a great example. Toilet paper or towel rolls are excellent supplies. Old magazines and newspapers are useful. Remain creative with what you usually toss out by using it in your projects instead.

Try not to be critical of kids when they do arts and crafts. Remember that the purpose is to let the creative juices flow, and there is no right or wrong. If you are telling them they did something wrong, they’ll sour on the project.
